About us

Just up from the Bar Harbor town pier, Galyn’s has been serving fresh seafood and hand-cut steaks since 1986. A firm belief in providing local fare with attentive service keeps our guests returning. Settle into one of our five art-filled dining rooms and become a part of the Galyn’s tradition.

Galyn’s is a family-run restaurant offering fresh, well-prepared foods, served by a friendly, professional staff. Our menu features fresh local fish, Maine lobster, prime rib, steaks, and gluten-free and vegetarian choices. An extensive wine list, local beers, and full bar selection complement our food offerings. Historic architecture and contemporary art create a relaxed and inviting setting.

Owners Rick and Gail Leiser, along with Chef Larry Jones, opened Galyn’s in 1986. They are all actively involved in the day-to-day operation of Galyn’s along with long-time manager John Duley. Together, with lots of help from a dedicated supporting staff, Galyn’s provides a dining experience we are proud of.

Testimonials

Despite it being very busy, my friend and I got a table and were served by very friendly and helpful staff. I tried out the Frenchman Bay Stew which was delicious and then topped it off with a blueberry-apple crisp that was excellent. The crab cakes we got for appetizers were really good and would recommend trying those too.

One of the greatest seafood restaurants in the village. Amazing salmon dish with a mango-pepper dressing. Definitely my favorite seafood dish now, period.

The clam chowder was great. It is the creamy style and the flavor of the clam was not hidden by the sauce. The salads were fresh and tasty. I had the haddock entrée with a red pepper aioli sauce. It was very well prepared.
